AFDP, WAFF to hold round table
The Asian Football Development Project (AFDP) in partnership with the West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) will hold a round table in Amman on Thursday and Friday titled, “Women‘s Football In West Asia: Moving Ahead”. The objective of the workshop is to obtain input from WAFF members regarding their next steps to develop women’s football. The workshop will also discuss existing women’s football competitions and how regional competitions can be better used for promotional and technical development. It will also elaborate on how women’s football can be used as platform for social development and identify how sponsors and other institutions further support the development of women’s football in the region. The workshop will make concrete recommendations for the next steps for the way forward for women’s football in the region. Participants will include representatives of WAFF member countries, Asian Football Confederations and the European football governing body UEFA in addition to representatives from the UN, the FA (England), Discover Football, USAID, regional marketing, media and commercial sector representatives such as Pepsi and Zain as well as technical experts and AFDP partners and staff.
